| 表面の説明 | Central field dominated by bold Arabic calligraphy in multiple lines, characteristic of the Tughluq hammered billon coinage. The legend, rendered in a robust cursive hand, fills the flan to its edges with the royal and religious titulature of Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief against a flat, unornamented field. The coin's irregular, slightly ragged rim is typical of hammered production. No border or marginal decorative element is present. |

Firuz Shah Tughluq's reign was administratively prolific but monetarily conservative — he largely maintained the billon fractional system inherited from Muhammad bin Tughluq, whose disastrous token currency experiment in the 1320s–30s had so thoroughly collapsed public confidence that orthodox metal-value coinage became a political necessity for any successor. The half tanka in billon occupies the lower end of a carefully tiered system designed to rebuild that trust.
DR#1261 places this among a well-documented series, though die alignment and legend execution vary considerably across the 37-year reign.
