| Beschrijving voorzijde | Two sinuous five-clawed imperial dragons are depicted in high relief, confronting one another as they encircle a large central yin-yang (taijitu) symbol, whose dark half features a fine diaper ground and each half bears a small contrasting dot. The dragons are rendered with meticulous detail, their scaled bodies, clawed feet, and flowing whiskers filling the field between the central device and the toothed outer border. A raised inner ring frames the yin-yang motif, while a continuous denticulated rim encloses the entire composition. The design is executed in the Western mechanical milling tradition, reflecting the experimental nature of this pattern issue. |
