Reverse description The reverse features a six-pointed star positioned at the top of the field, above a two-line Latin legend reading INDIÆ BATAV: followed by the date in the lower portion of the field. The inscription, referencing the Batavian Indies, is rendered in Roman capitals and occupies the central area of the plain, unbordered field. The overall layout is simple and legible, typical of the colonial copper issues struck for circulation in the Netherlands East Indies.
