Louis Napoleon's reign over the Kingdom of Holland lasted only four years before his brother forced his abdication in 1810, and these Indies issues were among the last coins struck under his authority. The timing is tight: Napoleon annexed Holland outright in July 1810, meaning production of this type overlapped almost exactly with the political collapse of Louis's rule.
Supply chains to Batavia being what they were, coins struck in this window often arrived in the Indies well after the issuing authority had ceased to exist.
