Reverse description A large plain cross dominates the reverse, with a small eagle displayed at the center point of the cross dividing the encircling legend. The four cantons formed by the cross arms are occupied by alternating eagles and lions passant, referencing the heraldic symbols of the Duchy of Gelderland. The peripheral legend, struck in Latin, identifies the issuing authority and mint. The execution is typical of hammered billon coinage of the Spanish Netherlands period, with uneven flan edges and variable strike depth.
