Obverse description Central field displays a crowned heraldic lion passant within a beaded or rope-edged shield, rendered in a crude late-medieval hammered style typical of Frisian municipal coinage. The design is set within a circular legend border. The surrounding field shows irregular flan surfaces consistent with hand-struck hammered silver. The overall composition is characteristic of small-denomination civic issues from the Low Countries in the late fifteenth century.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering MONETA: NOVA: LEWERDEN`
