| Reverse description | Central field bears a cross with a small heraldic device or pellet at the centre, flanked by symbols in each quarter, all enclosed within a linear inner circle. The surrounding legend records the date in a hybrid Roman-numeral and Arabic-numeral format. The flan is irregular and slightly buckled, as is typical of hammered municipal issues of this period. The engraving is bold but somewhat primitive, consistent with a provincial mint of the late fifteenth century. |
