| Obverse description | Jubilee effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing an imperial crown with a long veil falling behind, the draped bust adorned with the Star of the Garter and the badge of the Imperial Order of the Crown of India. The peripheral legend reads VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, with the engraver's initials J.E.B. incuse below the truncation. The portrait was modelled by Joseph Edgar Boehm and represents the standard Jubilee head type introduced in 1887. |

| Reverse description | Crowned and garnished shield of the Royal Arms, displaying the quartered arms of England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Hanoverian escutcheon removed, set within an ornate cartouche. The peripheral legend BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: encircles the shield, with the date divided by the mint mark (M for Melbourne or S for Sydney) in the exergue. The design derives from Benedetto Pistrucci's classic shield reverse as adapted for the sovereign series. |
