| Descrizione del dritto | Full-length facing effigy of the youthful King Edward VI enthroned beneath a canopy, robed and crowned, holding an orb in his left hand and a sceptre in his right, the throne flanked by elaborately detailed pillars with decorative finials. The king is depicted in the late medieval sovereign portrait tradition inherited from his father Henry VIII, rendered in high relief with fine drapery detail. The royal legend surrounds the enthroned figure within a beaded inner circle, with the abbreviated Latin inscription running clockwise around the field. |
