Beschrijving keerzijde A crowned shield bearing the royal arms of Denmark centrally placed in the field, with the divided date 15-31 flanking the shield at either side. A Latin legend surrounds the central device within an inner beaded ring, with a second beaded ring running along the rim. The composition follows the standard heraldic arrangement of Danish royal coinage of the period, with the scriptural motto serving as an admonitory inscription befitting royal justice.

Aanvullende informatie

Frederik I struck this issue during a reign defined by his careful neutrality on the Reformation question — a calculated ambiguity that allowed Lutheran preaching to spread through Denmark while he placated Catholic nobles. The 1531 date places this coin in the final years of his rule, just two years before his death triggered the Count's War and a succession crisis that would reshape Scandinavian politics entirely.

Galster's UU#50 designation places it among the rarer documented types in the series. Surviving examples in any condition are infrequently encountered at auction.
