Obverse description Displayed imperial eagle with wings spread, head turned to sinister, rendered in bold relief with finely detailed feathering on the wings and talons curling at the base. A small ornamental crown surmounts the eagle's head at the top of the field. The date is divided by the eagle's body, with '17' to the left and '39' to the right, both flanked by pellets. The coin's border is decorated with a continuous milled or beaded rim.
