Reverse description The central field features a depiction of the Obelisk of Ayacucho (the monument at the Pampa de Quinua battlefield), rendered in relief on a tiered stone base. To the left of the monument the denomination 1/2 is prominently displayed, and to the right the inscription SOL DE ORO appears in two lines. A circular legend around the upper periphery reads SESQUICENTENARIO DE LA BATALLA DE AYACUCHO - A LA GLORIA DE AYACUCHO - PAMPA DE QUINUA, while the lower arc bears the country name PERU flanked by stars, with the commemorative dates 1824-1974 below. A small mint mark is visible beneath the monument.
