| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse bears the denomination and nationality inscription arranged in five horizontal lines across the field, reading: the fraction 1/2 at the top flanked by two rosette or floral ornaments, followed by SKILLING, then DANSKE·, then the mintmaster's initials K·M·, then the date 1755·, and finally the assayer's initials P·N·V·H· at the base. The lettering is in bold upright Roman capitals, well-spaced and clearly struck. The absence of a surrounding legend gives the reverse a clean, legible typographic layout characteristic of Danish copper coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
