Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial portrait style typical of early Byzantine coinage. The emperor's diadem and military attire are characteristic of the period, conveying both regal and martial authority. The flan is small and irregular, as is common for hammered fractional silver issues of this series. No legible obverse legend is present on this denomination, the field being largely occupied by the imperial effigy.
