Obverse description Bust of Emperor Justinian I facing left, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, rendered in a barbarous provincial style characteristic of transalpine imitative coinage. The effigy is depicted with rudimentary facial features, the diadem visible above the brow, and paludamentum draped over the cuirass. The overall execution reflects the hand of a non-imperial workshop, with irregular flan shape and uneven surface relief. No legible legend is present, consistent with the barbarian imitative tradition of the mid-6th century.
