| 背面描述 | An aerial-perspective view of the Herodion fortress-palace dominates the field, depicting the distinctive cone-shaped hill rising above the Judean Desert landscape, with surrounding terrain and a stylized sun rendered above the horizon. The site name 'HERODION' appears in Latin script and 'הרודיון' in Hebrew script, positioned within the design to frame the central motif. The composition captures the archaeological grandeur of the Herodian monument in a detailed medallic style. |

Issued as part of Israel's Herodion archaeological site series, this coin commemorates the fortress-palace built by Herod the Great atop an artificial cone-shaped hill in the Judean Desert, one of the most ambitious construction projects of the late Second Temple period. Herod was ultimately buried there, though the tomb's precise location remained disputed for nearly two millennia until Ehud Netzer's excavation team announced its discovery in 2007.
