| 裏面の説明 | Entirely epigraphic reverse in thuluth script, presenting the Shi'a Kalimah (declaration of faith) in the central field: 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God, Ali is the Friend of God.' The name 'Ali' is repeated four times in a square formation at the centre of the design. Surrounding this central arrangement, the names of the Twelve Shi'a Imams are inscribed in a continuous marginal legend, including Muhammad, Hasan, Husayn, and the remaining Imams through to Muhammad al-Mahdi. The deeply struck, interlocking letterforms are characteristic of the First Standard Safavid coinage, with the bold script filling the flan entirely. |
