Reverse description The reverse field is filled with a multi-line calligraphic legend in naskh script, disposed within a rectilinear cartouche defined by incised ruled lines. The inscription enumerates the royal titulature of Shah Isma'il I, including his epithets of justice and guidance, his honorific kunya Abu al-Muzaffar, his name and title, and the Safavid dynastic nisbah, followed by the mint name Turbat in the lower register. A dotted or beaded inner border encircles the cartouche, with further marginal text partially visible along the irregular periphery of the hammered flan. The die is slightly off-center, a characteristic feature of early Safavid hammered coinage.
