| Obverse description | Central field features the heraldic achievement of Cardinal Francesco Galleffi, comprising a shield bearing his personal arms — divided with a star and a cockerel — surmounted by the papal umbraculum (ombrellino) with radiating rays and a dove above, flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter. The cardinal's hat with pendant tassels (fifteen per side, arranged in five rows) frames the composition on either side. The circumferential legend reads SEDE VACANTE MDCCCXXIX in Roman capitals, denoting the interregnum period of 1829. |

| Reverse description | A haloed female figure, representing the Church or the Virgin as protectress, is depicted seated upon billowing clouds in a flowing draped garment and veil, surrounded by a radiate nimbus. In her right hand she holds a tall Latin cross, while her left hand extends toward a detailed architectural model of a domed basilica with a colonnaded facade, symbolic of Saint Peter's Basilica. At her feet rests the papal tiara (triregnum). The circular legend AVXILIVM DE SANCTO is arranged around the field, and the mint mark appears at the bottom exergue. |
