| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned castle of Genoa, the Republic's heraldic emblem, flanked on either side by a six-pointed star. The date of issue appears in the lower field beneath the castle. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border. The design is executed in the hammered style typical of Genoese coinage of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. |
