Obverse description Central shield of arms bearing two crossed swords, the heraldic emblem of the Electorate of Saxony, set within a beaded inner circle. The shield is surmounted by a small ornamented cross or fleur-de-lis finial. A Gothic uncial legend in Latin runs continuously around the outer field within a beaded border, referencing the ducal title of the joint rulers Frederick III, John, and Albert. The overall style is characteristic of late 15th-century Saxon hammered coinage, with bold, slightly irregular relief.
