Obverse description Draped bust of Hans Widman facing right, depicted in civilian dress with a broad collar, his features rendered in high relief in the baroque portrait style. The effigy is set within a beaded or plain inner circle, with the circular legend surrounding the portrait in the field. The portrait is detailed and naturalistic, consistent with the commemorative medallic tradition of early seventeenth-century German coinage.

Reverse description A crowned and elaborately mantled heraldic shield displaying the arms of the Widman family, flanked by ornamental supporters and surmounted by a crested helm with decorative lambrequins. The central escutcheon bears a fleur-de-lis device, with the full achievement rendered in the baroque armorial style typical of seventeenth-century German territorial coinage. The circular legend naming the lordships of Sommeregg and Paternian runs around the outer edge of the field.
