In the lower portion of the field, the Devanagari mint mark 'गा' (for Gaekwad/Baroda) is prominently placed, serving as the distinguishing mark of the Baroda princely state authority. The combination of Arabic script legends with the Devanagari mint mark is characteristic of Baroda coinage struck in the name of the Mughal emperor during the reign of Anand Rao Gaekwad. |
