Reverse description The reverse presents a Persian legend in Nastaliq script, similarly divided into two registers by a horizontal ruled line across the field. The upper register carries the mint and regnal year formula 'Zarb Ahmedabad Sanah Julus Maimanat Manus' (Struck at Ahmedabad in the year of his tranquil prosperous reign), with the regnal year (RY) varying by issue. The calligraphy is bold and deeply struck, with characteristic pellet ornaments filling the field. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with the hand-struck production methods employed at the Ahmedabad mint under the Bombay Presidency during the early nineteenth century.
