| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Jigme Wangchuck, the second Druk Gyalpo (Dragon King) of Bhutan, depicted in traditional royal attire including an ornately decorated ceremonial crown surmounted by a bird finial and a richly embroidered robe with scrollwork detailing. The effigy occupies the central and lower field, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture typical of Calcutta Mint workmanship. A Tibetan-script legend curves along both sides of the field, reading from upper left to upper right, identifying the royal house of Bhutan. |
