Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Jigme Wangchuck, the second Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan, wearing a traditional ornate crown adorned with scrollwork and surmounted by a small bird finial. The effigy occupies the central field, rendered in moderate relief with fine detail on the collar and headdress. A Tibetan-script legend curves around both sides of the field, flanking the royal portrait.

Reverse description The reverse is divided into a grid of nine equal rectangular sections by raised lines, each section containing one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism plus a central Tibetan-script inscription. Reading from the top row left to right: the Dharma Wheel (dharmachakra), the Treasure Vase (bumpa), and a pair of Golden Fish (matsya); middle row: the Conch Shell (shankha), a central panel bearing the Tibetan denomination inscription, and the Parasol (chattra); bottom row: the Endless Knot (shrivatsa), the Lotus Flower (padma), and the Victory Banner (dhvaja). The overall composition is enclosed within a plain raised rim.
