Reverse description Hammered field displaying a multi-line Tibetan inscription divided into horizontal registers by raised lines, with a prominent teardrop- or vesica-shaped ornamental device centrally positioned in the middle register. Flanking characters appear to either side of the central motif, which serves as a distinguishing design element. Additional control marks or pellets appear in the lower register, varying across the known die varieties. The overall design is characteristic of Bhutanese Deb-period copper coinage, executed on an irregular flan with uneven surfaces typical of hand-hammering.
