| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crudely executed Tibetan script inscription arranged within a rectangular frame subdivided by raised linear borders into quadrants, occupying the central field of the coin. The hammered flan is irregular in shape, with the design elements boldly raised but roughly finished, characteristic of Bhutanese hand-struck coinage of the Deb period. Additional Tibetan characters appear in the margins beyond the central frame, partially visible at the periphery. The overall execution reflects the primitive striking technique employed at local Bhutanese mints during the nineteenth century. |
