The ship's stern is decorated with the rampant lion of Flanders alongside a banner displaying a rampant lion. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the outer border, identifying the coin as gold coinage of the metropolitan city of Ghent in Flanders. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A cross fleurée is centrally positioned within a double octalobe, with a small cross at the very center of the intersection. In each of the four angles formed by the cross arms, a crown and a rampant lion appear alternately, filling the decorative spaces within the octalobe frame. The surrounding Latin legend, interrupted by the date 83 (for 1583), carries a pious inscription invoking divine protection of the city. |
