Obverse description Central field features an Arabic inscription within a beaded circle, with a legend arching above. Below the inscription, two crossed swords are depicted, flanked on either side by a palm tree, forming the national emblem of Saudi Arabia. The overall design is rendered in a formal, heraldic style consistent with Saudi coinage of the mid-twentieth century. All inscriptions are in Arabic script, identifying the ruler as King Sa'ud bin 'Abd al-'Aziz Al Sa'ud and the issuing kingdom.
