(Translation: Silver coin of the United Provinces of the Netherlands, Holland)
Reverse description Central crowned shield of the Province of Holland bearing the rampant lion passant, with the date split on either side of the escutcheon — numerals '16' to the left and the final two digits of the year to the right. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The humanist motto legend in Latin capital letters runs continuously around the outer periphery, separated by a star stop. The design is characteristic of the hammered rijksdaalder series issued by the Dordrecht mint for the Province of Holland.
