Christian VIII's reign produced a short-lived monetary reform: the Rigsbank system, introduced in 1813 following Denmark's state bankruptcy, replaced the older courant currency at a ratio that wiped out roughly half the population's savings. These small copper skillings were the workhorse fractions of that reformed system, circulating heavily in everyday trade throughout the Danish provinces and the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein, where Danish monetary authority was already politically contested.
KM#725 is a single-year type for 1842, with no significant die varieties documented in the major references.
