Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of King Christian VIII occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair. The truncation bears the engraver's initials F.K. The surrounding legend reads CHRISTIANVS VIII D:G: DANIÆ V:G: REX, contained between an inner dentilated border and an outer beaded rim.
