Reverse description The reverse bears the mint name legend in Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in two principal registers separated by a horizontal ruled line, with additional decorative script filling the upper portion of the field. The inscription 'Zarb Mazandaran' identifies the issuing mint of Mazandaran province. The bold, densely composed lettering is struck in high relief on a plain field, consistent with the hammered technique used at provincial Qajar mints. A circular border encloses the design, and the flan displays the characteristic irregular edge of a hand-struck provincial coin.
