| Obverse description | The obverse displays the royal legend of Fath Ali Shah Qajar rendered in ornate Nasta'liq calligraphy, divided into four quadrants by a bold cross-ruled frame with a central roundel. The Arabic inscription reading 'Al-Sultan Fath Ali Shah Qajar' fills each quadrant of the field in bold, flowing script typical of Qajar coinage. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief against a plain field, with the overall design enclosed within a circular border. The hammered flan gives the coin an irregular outline characteristic of early nineteenth-century Iranian provincial issues. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears the mint name legend in Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in two principal registers separated by a horizontal ruled line, with additional decorative script filling the upper portion of the field. The inscription 'Zarb Mazandaran' identifies the issuing mint of Mazandaran province. The bold, densely composed lettering is struck in high relief on a plain field, consistent with the hammered technique used at provincial Qajar mints. A circular border encloses the design, and the flan displays the characteristic irregular edge of a hand-struck provincial coin. |
