The Arabic legend سلطنة عمان (Sultanate of Oman) curves along the upper periphery. The dual date appears in the lower field, with the Hijri year ١٤٠٠ (1400 AH) to the right and the Gregorian year ١٩٨٠ (1980) to the left, separated by a dash.
