| Obverse description | The national arms of the Sultanate of Oman occupy the central field, depicting a khanjar dagger superimposed over two crossed swords, all rendered in fine relief. The Arabic legend سلطنة عمان (Sultanate of Oman) curves along the upper periphery. The dual date appears in the lower field, with the Hijri year ١٤٠٠ (1400 AH) to the right and the Gregorian year ١٩٨٠ (1980) to the left, separated by a dash.
