Obverse description Detailed panoramic cityscape of Ulm depicted in high relief, showing the walled city with its characteristic skyline dominated by the tall Gothic tower of Ulm Minster at centre, surrounded by numerous rooftops, spires, and fortification bastions. The city name VLMA appears in a cartouche at the top of the field. In the lower portion of the field, a rectangular tablet bears the inscription DIVINI NVMINIS PRÆSIDIO TVTISSIMA in four lines, flanked on either side by small oval cartouches containing the engraver's initials D·S and the date numerals. The overall composition is engraved in a fine early Baroque style characteristic of German city coinage of the Thirty Years' War period.
