| Obverse description | Central device depicting two volcanoes rising from a landscape, with a radiant sun emerging behind them, its rays fanning outward across the upper field. The design is contained within a circular border with a beaded or milled rim. The surrounding legend, separated by bullet stops, reads MON • PROV • DEL EST • DE HOND •, identifying the coin as a provisional issue of the State of Honduras. The strike is characteristically crude, consistent with the primitive minting conditions at Tegucigalpa during this period. |
