Additional information

El Salvador's provisional coinage of the 1830s was struck under genuinely chaotic conditions — the Central American Federation was fracturing, and individual states were improvising monetary solutions without a functioning federal authority to coordinate them. This half real belongs to that stopgap period, produced locally before El Salvador had established any real minting infrastructure of its own.

KM#21 is poorly documented in surviving mint records, and examples show considerable variation in die execution — a direct consequence of improvised local production rather than a controlled mint environment.
