Obverse description Central field bears the royal monogram 'IHNS' (Ioannes, for João I) surmounted by a crown, rendered in Gothic style characteristic of early 15th-century Portuguese hammered coinage. The mint mark 'L' for Lisboa appears below the monogram. A circular legend in Latin reads 'ADIVTORIVM NOSTRVM IHNS L', encircling the central device within a beaded or toothed border. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, as typical of hammered billon issues of the period. The overall strike is worn but the crowned monogram and mint letter remain identifiable.

Reverse description Central field displays a further rendering of the royal name 'IHNS' within a stylised Gothic frame, surrounded by a circular Latin legend. The legend '+IHNS:DEI:GRA:REX:PO' (Ioannes Dei Gratia Rex Portugalie) runs around the periphery, abbreviated in the convention standard for Portuguese medieval coinage. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered production methods of the Lisbon mint under João I. The surface shows significant wear and encrustation, with the legend only partially legible.
