Obverse description Crowned monogram of Philip V (a stylized 'PV' cypher beneath a royal crown) occupies the central field, struck on an irregular cob flan characteristic of macuquina coinage. The denomination mark '1/2' appears within or adjacent to the monogram. Partial Latin legend referencing the king's titles runs along the periphery, though it is typically incomplete and poorly centered due to the hand-struck cob technique. The surfaces are uneven, with flat areas and weak strikes typical of Potosí half-real cobs of this period. Assayer initials appear in the field alongside the Potosí 'P' mint mark.
