| 表面の説明 | Facing crowned bust of King Juan I set within a cusped Gothic quadrilobe frame, the king depicted in regal attire with a prominent crown surmounted by fleurs-de-lis and foliate ornaments. The bust is rendered in a characteristically medieval flat relief style, with the face shown full-on and flanked by stylized shoulder drapery. A beaded inner circle borders the central design, with the Latin legend + IOHANNES DEI GRACIA REX running around the outer periphery of the flan. |

Juan I of Aragon inherited Majorca as part of the Crown of Aragon, the island kingdom having been reintegrated by his grandfather Pedro IV after a protracted dynastic struggle that extinguished the independent Mallorcan royal line in 1349. This half real belongs to Juan's relatively short reign, during which the island's mint operated under tight crown oversight — Majorcan silver coinage of this period circulated heavily in western Mediterranean trade routes, particularly in exchanges with Sardinia and the Catalan merchant networks operating out of Barcelona.
