| Description de l’avers | Central field features a bold cross pattée with the Christogram 'IhS' (IHS monogram) displayed beneath the crossbar, rendered in uncial Gothic lettering characteristic of late 14th-century Iberian hammered coinage. The cross divides the field into four quadrants. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading 'ADIVTOTIVM NOSTRVM QVI FEC IhnS *L*', a Psalm-derived invocation ('Our help is in the name of the Lord who made...'), consistent with pious Marian and Christological iconography of the Aviz interregnum period. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, as is typical of hammered silver of this era. The overall relief is moderately worn, with the legend partially legible. |

| Description du revers | Central device consists of the Portuguese royal arms: a quartefoil (quinas) arrangement depicting five escutcheons charged with bezants, enclosed within a double linear border of beaded or cable pattern, consistent with the heraldic style employed during the regency of João, Master of Avis (1383–1385). The escutcheons are arranged in a cruciform pattern typical of early Portuguese royal coinage. The surrounding circular legend reads 'IhnS D G R D R PO ALGA', an abbreviated titulature for 'João by the Grace of God, Ruler and Defender of the Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarve'. The flan is broad and irregularly shaped, with some weak areas at the rim due to the hammered striking technique. |
