Reverse description Central field displays the crowned shield of Aragon — the four vertical pales (pallets) on a plain field — enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A cross appears above the shield at the top of the inner circle. The mint master's initials L and S (for Luis Sanchez) flank the shield in the lower field. The surrounding legend proclaims the trophies of the kings of Aragon, separated from the central design by the beaded border. The overall style is consistent with hammered silver coinage struck at the Zaragoza mint in the early sixteenth century.
