| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned Royal Arms of Castile and León, featuring the quartered shield with castles and lions, flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules. A royal crown surmounts the shield. The peripheral legend, struck in Latin, reads FERDIN•VII•DEI•GRATIA with the date below, separated by pellet stops. The coin is hammered and of irregular flan, characteristic of the provisional Royalist emergency coinage issued at Zacatecas during the Mexican War of Independence. |
