Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Fernando VII facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style typical of the Mexico City Mint's early 19th-century coinage. The king is depicted with a laurel wreath bound by a ribbon, wearing a mantle with a clasp at the collar. The circumferential legend reads FERDIN•VII DEI•GRATIA, with the date appearing in the lower exergual area. The coin is bordered by a toothed or beaded rim.
