Reverse description A bold cross divides the field into four quadrants, with alternating castles (for Castile) and lions (for León) occupying each quarter in the traditional quartered arrangement of the Spanish colonial royal arms. The cross is plain and bold, consistent with the macuquina (cob) coinage style. Partial legends are visible along the periphery, though the irregular flan typical of hammered cob production results in incomplete inscription retention. The design closely follows the standardized colonial Spanish coinage heraldic convention established for New World mints.
