| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consists of the arms of Majorca — a crowned shield bearing the distinctive vertical pales of Aragon — prominently displayed within the field. The shield is boldly rendered and well-centred relative to the irregular flan, with a beaded inner border partially visible around the periphery. The surrounding Latin legend reads MAIORICARVM CATOLIC, referencing Philip II's Catholic royal title and the island territory. The strike is characteristically uneven, as expected of hammered provincial coinage, with portions of the legend falling off the flan. The reverse design follows the established heraldic tradition of Majorcan regal coinage of the 16th century. |
