Reverse description Quartered royal arms of Castile and Leon displayed within a cross pattee that divides the field into four quadrants: castles (towers) of Castile in the first and fourth quarters, and rampant lions of Leon in the second and third quarters, all rendered in the bold, schematic style typical of late medieval Castilian hammered coinage. A small aqueduct mintmark, identifying the Segovia mint, appears within the design. The heraldic composition is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. The circular Latin legend naming King Enrique IV runs around the periphery. The irregular flan exhibits the characteristic uneven edges of hand-struck medieval silver.
