Reverse description Central field depicts a Gothic castle of Castile with multiple towers and battlements, rendered in detailed relief, set within a quadrilobe (quatrefoil) frame with cusped lobes, all enclosed by a raised inner beaded border. A lion passant is visible at the base of the castle, referencing the arms of León. The circumferential Latin legend ENRICVS REX CASTELLE, punctuated by cross and annulet stops, runs between the inner beaded border and the outer irregular flan edge, in the Gothic lettering style characteristic of the Castilian royal mint production under Enrique II.
